Appease and Carrots

Finally, and Exhausated

We are but scant weeks from being put out of our electoral misery, as we will soon cross the finish line of one of the most uneventful ballotory cycles in recent history.

Contrary to the rampant current wisdom to which we have been incessantly subjected lo these last six months, absolutely no change will occur in the populative makeup of either federal legislative body come November 7th.

Yet these unabashed homicidal thugs are the people in whom the Democrats are willing to put their trust that all will be well in the world going forward, having already offered them an endless supply of turned cheeks, all red from the beatings, and copious cash in perpetually fruitless attempts to bribe them into compliance with rationality and reasonableness.

The Republicans rigid insistence on doing absolutely nothing this year, as if to make up for the spendthrift chicanery and virulent general unConservatism of the last five, will be just enough to eke out a status quo “victory” over a Democrat Party that provided us the only theatre to be had this season, that being their final death rattle as a serious major player on the national stage as its Connecticut members vomited out the last sane member in its navel-gazing midst.

One More For The Road Joe Lieberman has taken it to the Independent streets, leaving the Donkey contingent with the Ned Lamonts and Howard Deans screeching up front, and the Markos Moulitsas’s and the George Soros’s feeding them coin and horrendous ideas from the rear.

United to Protect ... the Enemy

This is not an assemblage to whom the American street feels comfortable handing over the nation’s reins. Forget all that you have read and heard; the pathetic Pachyderms will again be ruling the roost come 2007.

And there is but one reason why. As immigration has waned (slightly, in some parts of the nation) as an issue, dealing with the Muslim problem has waxed, and taken center stage as we head down the polling home stretch.

This plays very well for the Elephants. There is not but a whit of difference between the two Parties on the Southerly invasion currently underway (“Olly olly oxen-free” being the official position of both), so there is no real culling to be done by the electorate based on the issue.

But addressing the Easterly assault is, shall we say, a winged horse of a different color. Where, when and with how many Mohammed comes riding is a clear line of demarcation between the two Collectives up for consideration.

Ahoy! Osama bin Laden, Seventy Years Dead Ahead

The Republicans view this Year of Our Lord as a 1938 redux, when Nazi Germany gave us every indication of their evil intentions with the Wehrmacht stick, even as they spoke softly when called upon to do so by Neville Chamberlain and his fellow Peace In Our Timers.

The Democrats are worse even than the empirically feeble Neville. They see this as another 1914, where several nations simultaneously bluffed and blustered us into a World War that some retroactively view as utterly avoidable, if only someone had stepped in to talk, talk TALK us in off of the ledge. The Democrats of today are volunteering to be the official gum-runners, flapping in to save the day and the human race from their all-action, no-talk counterparts.

The Serbian Black Hand’s assasinative act initiated the first great global conflict, and the Islamist Black September assault on the Munich Olympiad was the slow burn inception of this, the Fourth World War. But in solely the color of nomenclature chosen by these brutal organizations does any similarity lie.

The Donkey Party’s view of the Great War may or may not be right, but their comparison of then to what we currently face is definitively way off the mark. The machinations of the mouths of the day were not backed by deeds of consequence until the dominoes in place fell with the unilateral felling of Franz Ferdinand.

The Islamist enemy of today provides us with the worst of both World Wars, the unfettered rhetoric of Number I with the murderous actions of Number II. They behave just like Nazis, but with none of the rhetorical nuance displayed by their Fascist predecessors.

Yes, You, the Infidel Pig in the Back

Want to know what they intend to do? Just ask them. Or better yet, simply sit back and await the next racist, rambling diatribe from any of the myriad Mullahs and Mahmouds on murderous parade around the globe.

And they have spent the last thirty-five years wreaking far more international havoc than any and all parties prior to either of the first two World Wars, so to say that they are all talk and no action a la the players of the very early 20th Century is woefully and dangerously ignorant and wrong.

Terrible, But Not Worse

All the while having spent the last five years riling against a President and a Party who are slightly less comfortable with all of that as an operational governing philosophy.

This is certainly not winning electoral stratagem, but nevertheless that to which the Democrats are clinging as they drift towards a November election in which they should clean up, but will instead again have their timepieces desoiled.

Appease and carrots? Succotrash foreign policy and campaign tactic, to be sure.
