A Connecticut Democrat Primary Voter Headed For the Polls

The national Democrat Party yesterday unceremoniously and unsurreptitiously cut one of its last remaining tethers to Reality, embodied as the overarching unreconstructed Liberal, save on but one issue, who just six years prior was designated the #2 overall Donkey.

For having the audacity to consistently defend America’s right to exist, and his refusal to take part in his fellows’ pseudo-intellectual parlor game of retroactively substituting Iraqi hindsight for forethought, Joe Lieberman’s associate Burros and the online electronic apparatchik deemed him Public Servant Enemy #1, and yesterday succeeded in reaching the Party’s conversionary conclusion, from once the home of Jacksons Andrew and Scoop to its now being but the elective branch of MoveOn.org. (Another Jackson, Jesse the Poverty Pimp, would feel even more right at home here now; however, thankfully, his time, and his jig, is mostly up.)

Democrats dumping a sitting Senator who, by their very own count and admission, votes the way they wish someone to 90% of the time, in favor of a man, Ned Lamont (all Nut, no ‘meg) so clearly and egregiously unencumbered of coherent thought and rationality, to make up 1/100th of our nation’s Senior Circuit is one of the last rattles of a dying agglomerative political apparatus.

Thusly, a fractious minority is reborn as the functional majority of one of the two major American political Parties in but six years of evolutionary calandarial passage.

The reformation has been as swift as it is now total. Crowned it’s Vice Presidential nominee in 2000 on the then already cresting wave of Bill Clinton New Democrat centrism, by 2004 Lieberman could finish no higher than ninth in a seven-way primary for the Party’s top shot at the Great Gig.

Were it not for the Media’s unpleasant memories of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, one might almost forget that Howard Dean was not the Party’s nominee in that Year of our Lord. But the Vermonter rode his entrenched campaign psychosis all the way to the Chairmanship of the Democrat National Committee, another large stride in the Donkeys’ rat race to ideological and electoral oblivion.

What had reactionarily begun at the top of the political pyramid has now, in just two short additional years, filtered down to the state level, where in one declarative shriek the liberal web cartel and the Connecticut Democrat conglomerate has demanded, “Out, ye last damn spot of global actuality”.

The Donkey unReality ideological slate has now been wiped thoroughly clean.

This fully formed grievous circumstance is the freight train that the Democrat leadership saw coming, but about which they could do nothing to extricate themselves from its tracked path. Much like direct mail did for the Right, the Left wing blogosphere has quickly proven itself eminently successful at two things, raising ire, and money, in droves.

However, unlike with the conservatives’ utilization of the United States Postal Service, what the Daily Kos contingent had yet to do was win anything. Now they have their Pyrrhic primary victory, which will undoubtedly cost them the biennial war for years to come.

Slaves to the coin of the political realm, Democrats saw the Deans of the world riding the notoriety and monetary swells of the web and were forced to capitulate to this insane portion of their base, with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid going so far as to regularly play host to meetings between key senior Donkeys and Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, the Daily Kos King of internet inanity.

By so doing, the Burros simultaneously inflicted two wounds to their own body politic. They at once legitimized this contingent’s way of non-thinking, thereby emboldening crackpots everywhere to come in from the pseudo-intellectual hinterlands and join the Party. And they thereby said to those that remained, post-Reagan Democrat Revolution, of the uninsane portion of their program, “We are now so far out there, in our dire search for operational capital, that we say to those of you that are still herein who think it is in actuality okay to like and defend your nation and its values, that we no longer have anything for you on proffer; please extinguish the lights whence you depart”.

Unelectable, That's What You Are

And this is an absolutely atrocious turn of events for Conservatives.

Karl Rove and his cohort Big Government Republicans have now achieved electoral Nirvana, and once again we have found the Conventional Wisdom to be neither. There is quite simply no way in ballotory Heck that the Democrats will be regaining control of either cameral come what November.

Any check on the GOP’s unfettered growth of the federal Leviathan just left with Joe Lieberman; no matter how badly the Pachyderms perform, the American people absolutely will not instead turn to what the Democrat Party has now become.

And the Republicans empirically know this. The Elephantary majority can wallow in the porkly mire all they wish, knowing that when the time comes to pull the lever, the populace will be forced to choose them, the swine they know, rather than the cuckoos and dodos they know all too well but wish they did not. “At least the Republican gormandizers are grounded here on Earth,” the thinking behind the curtain will go, “so I will hold my nose and again reelect the lesser of two stenches”.

So back to the front will go the Arlen Specters, the Ted Stevens’s and the Don Youngs of the world; the RINOs leading the blind for another two annums. And Conservatives will again be left as the majorative spies who can not seem to come in from the cold.
